Laughlin, Pewter in America, Vol. III, pp. 144-145. Makes association between items made by Cornelius Bradford, Malcolm McEuen, and Malcolm' son Duncan and this pewterer. Laughlin had been unable to discover the associaiton between Bradford and this pewterer. He supposes that DS worked in Pennsylvania in the third quarter of the 18th century. Comments for the figure 886 (Plate CXI) indicate that the "crude" rose and crown mark shown is found on a plate in the Winterthur Museum. (This may be 1956.0059.015) Laughlin feels that the pewterer was a German-American working between C. 1750-1775.
