The print works Favre, Petitpierre et Cie was a successor of the factory founded by the brothers Ferdinand and Aristide Petitpierre, in 1760 on the Vertais bridge, prairie d'Aval. The factory was in operation in the same place, by the same family for almost a century, although there were several different names for the firms that ran this factory. The chronology of the firms is as follows: 1760-1790, Petitpierre frères et Cie, founded by Ferdinand Petitpierre and his older brother Aristide 1790-1802, Petitpierre et Cie, by Ferdinand and the widow of Aristide 1802-1806, Favre, Petitpierre et Cie, by Louis and Pierre-David, sons of Antoine Favre and nephews of the brothers Petitpierre 1806-1818, Favre, Petitpierre et Cie, by Ferdinand Favre and his nephews Ferdinand and Aristide, sons of Ferdinand Petitpierre 1818-1866, Ferdinand Favre et Cie, by Ferdinand favre, Henri Favre (nephew?), Ferdinand Petitpierre, and Auguste Barat Reference: Clouzot, Henri & Morris, Frances. 1927.
