Catharina B. Weidman (Maker)
Two other towels made by members of the Weidman family are known; one lists the names of Isaac, Susanna, Peter, and Christina Weidman and is dated 1837 (see Gehret et al, This is the Way I Pass My Time, p. 279, no. 844). The other is dated 1838 and lists the name Catharina Weidman as the apparent maker, along with the names of Catharina B. Weidman, Peter, Christina, George, Susanna, Daniel, Joseph, Catharina, Margaret, Peter, Emanuel, Israel, Elisabeth Weidman, also Elisabeth Yundt (see Gehret et al, p. 281, no. 1047). Peter Weidman (1780-1867) and his wife Christina (1787-1868) are buried in the Emanuel Lutheran Church cemetery in Brickerville, Lancaster County. Peter Weidman was the son of Jacob and Barbara Weidman. His younger sister, Elisabeth Weidman, married George Yundt. (L. Minardi 5/29/2013)
