Thomas Badger Jr was born in Boston and probably began his career around 1786. After working in a shop on Prince Street from 1764 to 1786, Badger was listed as a grocer in the directories. He was active in local politics and militia.

1. Mark; Underside, at center; "THOMAS / BADG " stamped in two curved banners above and below an American eagel with outstretched wings and a shield body with an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The mark is partially effaced around the perimeter.
