Its shape (including the rings) and iconography (the reindeer) resemble several "Old Lapp" spoons pictured in Rainwater and Felger, A Collector's Guide to Spoon's Around the World, (Hanover, Pennsylvania: Everybodys Press, Inc., and Thomas Nelson Inc., Publishers, 1976), p. 124-126.
