This box is made from a tent olive shell fitted with a hinged silver lid that features an owner’s initials “GR” in script within a delicately engraved scalloped border. This shell species has the scientific name Voluta olive and is found along the coast of Southwestern America, Peru, and the Galapagos Islands.
