Bequest of the Trust for the Benefit of Richard Tousey and Others
Lewis Cary (Maker)
1798-1834
As per Tousey's notebook: "One of Cary's apprentices was Newell Harding. This could be the reason the Shreve, Crump and Low spoons were 3 Cary, 1 Harding identical in a set of four except the Harding is not as heavy and a bit wider and not with a drop on the handle (i.e. no back tipt). (Buck, Old Plate p. 49)"
