The Mary Ann Furnace was established on Furnace Creek in York County, Pennyslvania in 1762. It changed ownership several times; George Ross owned it by 1766. Ross was a Colonel in the Revolution, and the furnace cast cannon and cannon shot for the war. See the Object File for Object ID 1960.0773 for more on Ross.
