Christian Beschler immigrated in 1764 to America. He was from Wertheim in central Germany. Beschler made fraktur for children in Upper Mahoney Township, Northumberland County, PA.
Formerly known as the Sussel-Unicorn Artist, based on the sale of a fraktur by him in the collection of Arthur J. Sussel, Philadelphia antiquarian and fraktur collector. This artist is believed to have worked around Stone Valley Church and Himmels Church in the Mahantongo Valley of central Pennsylvania. The Earnests note that this artist was familiar with the work of Daniel and Henrich Otto, and "therefore may have worked in Northumberland County." (Earnest, p. 406.)
