John Dolbeare (Maker)
1669/70-1740
Along with his brother Joseph, John Dolbeare probably worked for his father, Edmund Dolbeare, pewterer, by the time the family moved from Boston to Salem. John was a prolific pewterer and a prominent citizen of Boston. He seems to have turned primarily to work as a merchant and brazier by about 1729.
Previous cataloguer lists life dates as 1664-1728 (2006).
