• Blue-printed Minton plate from same series (with different central bird and lacking gilding): Identified as "Japanese Crane," pattern no. 17416. "Impressed marks: MINTONS J II [arrow = 1874]. Printed diamond registry and factory mark with MINTON and pattern name "Japanese Crane." The design was registered December 10, 1872 ...The pattern is adapted from a Japanese jardiniere that was shown at the London Great Exhibition, 1862...
