Joseph Willard graduated from Harvard in 1765 and received his masters degree from the same institution in 1768. Additionally he was Pastor of the First Parish, Beverly, Massachusetts and first corresponding secretary (1780) of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was the twelfth president of Harvard College.
