Goodwin (Maker)
There are three silversmiths/jewelers associated with this mark: Ralph Goodwin (d. 1868), Horace Goodwin (1787-1864) and Allyn Goodwin (1797-1869). From 1821-25 and then again in 1828 the Directory names Ralph Goodwin, a possible brother. From 1840-52 the mark is listed under Horace D. Goodwin II, jeweler. Then from 1842-50 it is listed under Allyn Goodwin, jeweler. (Belden, Marks of American Silversmiths, p. 197)
