Katherine Ebert in Collecting American Pewter, p. 110 states that Ephraim Capen, pewterer, was associated with Brook Farm in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, an experimental commune before working with George Molineux in New York City. Capen signed the constitution of Brook Farm Association for Industry and Education on May 12, 1844.
