George Lightner first appeared in Baltimore records on a deed dated 1791 in which he was mentioned as a tavern keeper. In 1806 he advertised as a "Tin and Pewter Manufactory" on North Street, Old Town, near the Hay Scales in Baltimore (Laughlin, p.78-79). For more on George Lightner's marks, see C.
