"Matley, Samuel & Son, Hodge, Cheshire. Samuel Matley, calico-printer, was in partnership with James Lever at Red Bank, Manchester until 1787, when Matley took over the business. Between 1802 and 1805 he was also printing at Scotland Bridge, Manchester, then letting those premises and moving to Hodge, near Mottram, where his family continued to print until 1870."
