Peter Young married Eva Moore in 1785. He bought property on Columbia Street, Albany in 1792 but he lost his house and barn in the fire of Albany on August 4, 1797. Laughlin believes that Young did not resume his practice after that event (p.23). For more on Peter Young's marks, see C. Jordan Thorn, Handbook of American Silver and Pewter Marks, section 2, p.289; Carl Jacobs, Guide to American Pewter, 1942, p.194-5; Ebert, Collecting American Pewter (1973), p.146; and Montgomery, History of American Pewter (1973), p.229.
