References: Earnest, Papers for School Dayes, pp. 446-47. Winterthur's Vorschrift, 57.1222, is the only signed example known. Whistler's copybook (written in German and English) was discovered and sold at auction in the late 1980s. In it, Whistler notes he was "received to the Mennonites" but 29 years later was "baptized to the German Reformed Baptists." (See Earnest, p. 446.)
