Cake board 1960.0710 is similar in execution, wood, and flower design to 61.1704 and 55.48.60 which are stamped "J. CONGER" and "J. Y. WATKINS, N. Y.". John Conger worked in New York City from 1827- 1835 as carver and baker; James Y. Watkins was a tinsmith and ran a Kitchen Furnishing Warehouse at various times between 1830 and 1845. John Conger, carver, is listed at 121 Hester Street (1827-1828); 15 Stanton Street, house at 29 Stanton (1829-1830); 15 Stanton, house at 23 Stanton (1830-1831); 222 Greene Street (1831-1832); 242 Greene Street (1832-1833). Not listed in 1834, but in 1835 he is listed as a baker at 236 1/2 Mercer Street.
