The Strickler family, Mennonite Swiss immigrants, moved to Shenandoah (now Page) County, Virginia, as early as 1733. Jacob Strickler (1770-1842), of the third generation in America, lived all his life in Massanutten, a Mennonite community on Mill Creek, near Luray, Shenandoah (now Page) County,
