Measurements are given for .20 B, the longer of the two. .20 A is 44 inches long and 1/4 inch in diameter.
These rods came to Winterthur with a loom that had been used in southeastern Pennsylvania for more than two hundred years. Thin rods like these could be used for any number of tasks related to weaving, like knitting heddles or tying on a warp. These two were hand planed into a roughly round shape, just smooth enough to be serviceable.
