References: Stopp, The Printed Birth and Baptismal Certificates of the Pennsylvania Germans, vol. 2, pp. 124 and 130-36. Villee changed his last name from DeVille by court order (no date given). He was the son of the governor of Paris and fought under Napoleon before being forced to flee France in 1815. He printed three types of certificates, each in German and English editions, as well as broadsides.
