Favre-Petitpierre et Cie (Fabric manufacturer)
1802-1818
The firm known as Favre-Petitpierre et Cie has a long history. Per Clouzot's "Historie de la Manufacture du Jouy et de la toile Imprimee au XVII siecle", the firm began in 1760 as "Petitpierre freres et Cie." Between 1790 and 1797, it was "Petitpierre et Cie". In 1802, the Favre family joined the company, and the firm was called "Favre-Petitpierre et Cie." In 1818 the Petitpierre family left the business, and the firm changed its name to "Ferdinand Favre et Cie." See Clouzot for more information. (Sara Jatcko and Nicole Belolan, 07/09/2010)
