1. Mark; Side of backing; A central crest depicting "SPEAR & JACKSON" arched over a crown logo over "S[&J]" in turn over "Sheffield". The crest is flanked by the words "Double Refined" on one side and "Spring Steel" and "WARRANTED" on the other. All words with lowercase letters are script and the others are block. All stamped incuse and slightly effaced.
