This slip seat is possibly original to stool 1959.0806, which was made between 1720 and 1740 in Newport, Rhode Island, and was upholstered at Winterthur or in New York in the early 20th century.

The center section of canvaswork was probably made in America between 1740 and 1790 and may have once been a pocketbook. Both side pieces were made 1950 and 1960.
