Pierre Canot's series, "Original Sea Pieces and Shipping, by P Momamy" was begun for John Bowles circa June 20, 1743. Robert Sayer later acquired the plates in 1775 and sold the series of twelve impressions in frames. These impression, with full margins, are probably from the first publication.
