Gift of Charles K. Davis
Parks Boyd (Maker)
Boyd married Sarah Loudon on June 6, 1793. Robert Palethorp Jr bought out the contents of Boyd's shop after the latter's death (Laughlin, vol.2, p.62). Charles F. Montgomery, in "A History of American Pewter", lists Boyd's active dates as 1795-1819. For examples of his marks, see Handbook of American Silver and Pewter Marks, 1949, section 2, p.243 and Ebert, Collecting American Pewter (1973), p.125. See also Carl Jacobs, Guide to American Pewter, 1957, p.43-44.
