Temperance Parker was from the Boston or Barnstable area of Massachusetts. Her father's name was Andrew Parker. Inscription found on backing board: "Mr. Andrew Parker & Wife name Temperance Parker / Picture worked by Temperance Parker. Supposed / to be at the present time about 150 years since / she was born. / Making picture about 125 to 150 years old. / Novenber 15, 1875. / Barnstable, Massachusetts. / (Cape Cod) / Copy of desciption of picture written by William / Robinson. This copy made Nov. 2, 1913."
